August 18, 2025 | Red Deer, AB – Dress for Success Central Alberta (DFSCA) is proud to announce it has been awarded a $21,711 grant from the Government of Alberta’s Community Initiatives Program (CIP), Project- Based Grant Stream. This funding will support the development of DFSCA’s innovative Career Hub, a new initiative aimed at advancing economic empowerment for women across Central Alberta.
The Career Hub will be a 24/7 online platform offering barrier-free access to accredited education, pre-employment training, and ongoing community support. Designed to meet women where they are, the platform will help users prepare for their first good job, transition into new roles, and grow into leadership positions.
“Alberta’s government proudly supports Dress for Success and its commitment to empowering women through employment services and economic development. Organizations like yours help women gain confidence, secure employment and achieve financial independence. Your dedicated services play a vital role in building healthy, vibrant and more resilient communities across the province,” shared the Honourable Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women.
“We are grateful to the Government of Alberta for recognizing the importance of this initiative,” said Lee Ann Waines, Board Chair of Dress for Success Central Alberta. “This support allows us to take a major step forward in creating accessible, impactful resources for women in our community.”
The Career Hub is set to launch this fall, marking a transformative moment in DFSCA’s mission to support women on their path to economic independence.
