Dress for Success Central Alberta offers long-lasting solutions that enable women to break the cycle of poverty and create economic independence.

Every woman has the right to realize her full potential and achieve financial independence. We believe that with the proper education, tools and action this world is possible.

Dress for Success Central Alberta is currently fundraising to build this transformative resource that will fill an existing workforce development gap for women in our community.

Work readiness training from Red Deer Polytechnic.
One on one job preparation services.
Career Support resources and counselling.
Learn where to look for work and how to get it.
Online bookings for styling appointments and workshop sign up.
Develop new skills to increase employability (MS office etc).
Build confidence to go after the job you want.
A variety of online education, information modules and workshops curated to serve the needs of our local community and job market.

Why does our community
need the Career Hub?

Red Deer has the highest percentage of lone parent families in Alberta with the vast majority of those households being lead by women.
The majority of women Dress for Success Central Alberta serves have children under the age of 18 living at home with them. 38% of families in Red Deer are considered low income.
Poverty is more than a lack of money, it is limited access to opportunities such as post secondary education or engaging in recreation activities like a gym membership.
The minimum wage in Alberta is $15 per hour. Red Deerʼs living wage is $18.90 per hour. With a nearly $4 per hour discrepancy from the minimum wage it means that creating opportunities for education and career growth for our clients matter.
Supporting local women in their job search and career journey creates a better trained, more qualified workforce. We are stronger together.
Dress for Success Central Alberta creates community within our space and in our program offerings. Research shows that “people with extensive social connections linking them to people with diverse resources tend to be more “hired, housed, healthy, and happy.”
